Important things to note if this is your first time getting waxed:
- Do NOT shave or trim your hair for at least 2 weeks prior to your appointment. Your hair must be as long as a grain of rice to be able to wax.
- Do NOT drink caffeinated beverages or alcohol the day of your appointment.
- Stay hydrated for several days prior to your appointment.
- OPTIONAL: Take a couple ibuprofen an hour before your wax to take the edge off.
frequently asked questions
do no-show & late cancellation fees apply?
Yes, our standard no-show and late cancellation fees apply on sliding scale days. Although these services are being offered at a discounted rate, our standard no-show and late cancellation policies remain the same.
- We have a 5 minute grace period, please call us if you are going to be late for your appointment. If you are more than 5 minutes late, your appointment WILL need to be rescheduled.
- All services cancelled within 24 hours of your appointment time are subject to a 50% Late Cancellation fee.
- All skipped appointments are subject to a 99% No Show fee
- Clients who No Show on Sliding Scale Days will not be eligible to rebook on future Sliding Scale days. PLEASE CALL US IF YOU CAN'T MAKE IT!
how do I know if I qualify for sliding scale rates?
If you feel that you would benefit from receiving waxing and/or skin services at a discounted rate, you qualify for our Sliding Scale Days!
We are not here to police who can and can't benefit from a discounted rate on our services. We understand that waxing services are a luxury, and can often be inaccessible for many different reasons, that's why we will never ask for any kind of verification to book a Sliding Scale appointment.
what does sliding scale mean? can I pay whatever I want?
At Beehive, sliding scale days mean that the prices of services have been adjusted from their usual fee to a discounted rate. On these days, select services are offered at 50% - 100% of their usual fee. You are encouraged to pay whatever price in that range works for your budget.
are sliding scale services available every day?
Sliding scale appointments are only available on our designated sliding scale days. Currently, sliding scale days are offered every 4 weeks. Check out our instagram or give us a call to inquire about the next sliding scale date.
can I walk in on sliding scale days and be seen?
All services at Beehive are by appointment only. In an effort to keep appointments running smoothly and ensure the quality of every service, Sliding Scale days will be treated like any other day at Beehive and require an appointment.
If there are no appointments available on our upcoming Sliding Scale Day, we're happy to add you to a waitlist and notify you if an appointment becomes available.
what if I cannot afford the adjusted fee?
We hear you. Life is expensive, and not everyone is able to work our services into their budget. Stay tuned for more opportunities for accessibly priced and sponsored services.
what if I want services that aren't on your sliding scale menu?
You are welcome to add on services from our standard menu onto your sliding scale appointment. Please understand that all services not offered on a sliding scale will be charged at their regular cost.
why do I need a credit card on file?
Every appointment at Beehive requires a credit card on file in case of a no-show or late cancellation fee. But don't worry, we will never charge the card on file at the time of booking.
The only time a card on file is charged is for late cancellations (any appointment cancelled or rescheduled within 24 hours of the appointment's start time) and no-show (appointments skipped without notice) fees.
