Katie started this project just herself in a single-service room. But, far from a lone wolf, Katie knew she wanted to build a community based on mutual respect and love for the most vulnerable in our community.
Over the years, Katie has curated a team who understands that offering clients kindness and self-presence is as important as providing our community with excellent services.

yvonne is beehive’s waxing manager. she’s the one creating inclusive and trauma-informed protocol, researching every ingredient to make sure we’re keeping your skin happy, and dreaming up new services to offer.
lily is the hive’s social butterfly and sports fanatic (women’s sports, obvi), and creative baddie. catch her and her cute outfits at around town trying out the best food in sac.

what’s one thing clients are often surprised to learn about you? that I’ve been in the beauty industry for 20 years!

what do you love most about being part of the hive? I’ve learned so much about community and how to show up as an ally

what’s one thing clients are often surprised to learn about you? that I used to run ultramarathons 🏅

what do you love most about being part of the hive? I love being able to work in a place that I can come to and feel safe, and that everyone else can too

julia is the creative genius behind beehive’s online presence. outside of the hive, they’re a fiber artist collector of hobbies.

what do you love most about being part of the hive? i love being part of a community that is intentional about showing up for every person, every day

what is one thing you want clients to know before they arrive? you are wanted and welcome here. any apprehension you’re having about your service, please know we’re here to make your experience as smooth as possible (pun very much intended).
liz is the hive mom and hr’s biggest op. she keeps the front desk running smoothly and all your favorite products while cracking jokes and baking a fresh loaf of sourdough. we love you liz, never change.

what do you love most about being part of the hive? being surrounded by like-minded people — both clients and staff
